Mashup Script Updated

Hi!,
In the best spirit of a mashup, Ran Aroussi created a new script based on 45in5 mashup script.
Then I decided to port Ran's ideas into my own version..

The new version of the script has:
I'm also working a mashup with a twist... Imagine if your site could join a network of related sites, and exchange links based on the page keywords?

If you want to know more about this project, make sure you subscribe to this site.

Anne,
I'm not sure why you have this error..
Check that your server supports .htaccess files. Also check that they have the right permissions on your server, as some servers will give an error if the .htaccess file has write permissions for "all"..
As a last resource, get the phpinfo() and verify the version of PHP.

Love the ease of use of the script!
Thanks for making it available for php4.

One question: I don't see my amazon ID in the amazon links and I checked your website on digital photography, and your amazon ID isn't visible either - no &tag=youramazon-20 ID.

Is something missing here?

Eddie,
It seems that your server does not have the parser installed.
Check the documentation at the url
http://yoursite/domit/docs/xml_domit_parser_docs.html#d0e979
There is a replacement available (but I have not tested this).

Updater:
The links have the amazon id on them... just the structure is not what you expected.
Foe example:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/asin/B000ZMIUD2/ref=nosim/positiveconfl-20
the affiliate id is on the last part.
Regards,
JP

I understand what you're saying Juan but the affiliate ID is not there! Take a look on your own photo site. Your ID isn't there and it's not visible in the source code either.

Other people's sites created with Mark's software DO have the affiliate ID visible in their amazon links.

I wouldn't like to think we would both be missing out on amazon affiliate commissions.

Could you take a look at the code again? Thanks!

JC

Ebay just announced that they will not longer parnter with Commission Junction. This termination will be completed by May 1st 2008. Ebay is asking users to register directly with Ebay at http://affiliates.ebay.com. This will obviously affect the mashup script you so generously wrote. Mark would you consider updating the mashup as it depends on the Commission Junction structure now.

Thanks. Look forward to the reply.

@sam,
I will look into this issue..
My guess is that they will try to be as compatible as possible with thecurrent implementation.
So far I was not able to register as "ebay" affiliate .

if you want to be notified when the script is updated, you can use the subscription option on the left menu.

Great Script. Thanks!
In config.php you have:

$config['amazon']['search_index'] = 'Photo';

Can I pick multiple search categories like this:

$config['amazon']['search_index'] = 'Photo,Beauty,Apparel';

Again, great script. I'll keep checking back for the updated version.
